The locals: a large portion of 'greenies' and a handful of rednecks, with a well-earned reputation as the friendliest people in Australia. They will go out of their way to help you out and show you around. That way you will see places no other tourist has ever seen :-)

Tourists come here because: Tasmania is off the beaten track, so rich rewards lie in store for adventurous, outdoorsy types. But get there quick, this is one of the world's up-and-coming international destinations, and that is not without a reason !!!

Inside info: Tasmania officially has the cleanest air in the world. Much of its vast World Heritage wilderness area remains unexplored. It also has Australia's oldest pub and bridge and is the main base for Antarctic expeditions. Another claim to fame: 1930's heart-throb Eroll Flynn was Tasmanian.
