Inside info: 2 1/2 percent of Queensland's population are Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islanders. 86 of the Queensland's 1000 native animals are unique to the state of Queensland.

1. Experience Surfers Paradise (picture): sunshine and action. Non-stop parties, surfing, jet skiing, diving and anything else you can think of.

2. Diving on the Great Barrier Reef: you cannot go all the way Down Under without learning to dive on the reef.
