Spay and neuter helps stopping pet overpopulation...
Please don't "litter"....Fix your critter!!!

And I am serious about that, although that may look strange because I want to breed with my Venus and my Charlie. Breeders are not responsible for the overcrowding of the shelters. Rarely do you find purebreds in shelter situations and we have breeder rescue organizations set up to step in when one does show up there.

vetThe VAST majority of shelter "victims" are from the neighborhood pets that are allowed to run free and breed indiscriminately because their owners won't spay/neuter them. The opponents of breeders say that if we didn't breed purebreds, the others could find homes.

They need to focus on the pet owners who allow those breeding and never do anything to stop their animals from having multiple implacable litters. Most of the breeders that I know of have waiting lists for their babies, before they are ever born, so they are not breeding implacable babies.

People who buy an animal from a breeder do so because they want a specific type of animal. They have the right to make that choice. If the opponents of breeders had their way, this choice would be taken away.

Please do not believe that I am putting down domestic cats or dogs that aren't pedigreed for generations. I am not. But I do feel that people have the right to choose the look and the characteristics of the animal that they are going to share their home and life with for many years. For me a dream came true when I got my Persians, I want to give others that same joy.
