I know how much the awards I got mean to me. They make all the hard work and time put into my site worth it. So, it's only fair that I present awards to others to possibly encourage them or just show my appreciation for their hard work. But that is only part of the fun :-) The other part is to surf around sites that I probably never would have seen without the award program. After all, am I interested in big creepy spiders? Hell no, jaiks ! But because of my award program I've learned about bird eating spiders. So part of the purpose of my program is also to see more of the world then only my part of it... Who I am? One of my awards, for you ?

* I am looking for sites with personality; to me this means that a site is sort of unique in design, content or both.
* Of course a website needs a good design, but I am addicted to reading and my eyes and brain are always hungry for more good stuff (this can be reading material or art). A website can have a great design, but if there is nothing to learn, nothing to read I will leave.

I've got one (1) very special award: my Warm Heart Award (click here). This award cannot be applied for and it is seldom seen: it is presented to people that give a lot but don't ask anything in return and it is given to sites that touch my heart. My other Awards based on a simple points system:
* up to 5% of points are awarded for first impression;
* up to 40% of points are awarded for contents;
* up to 30% of points are awarded for design (including technical stuff);
* up to 15% of points are awarded for navigation and
* up to 10% of points are awarded for things like for example loading time.

N.B. also the owners of stand alone award programs can apply. Of course the sites have to meet my criteria, but the 40% points for contents will be judged another way. To see how, take a look at the extra criteria for stand alone award programs (click here).

As last:
* when you apply for one of my awards (or any award) remember this: the decision is always partly based on a personal opinion. If you don't win an award it does not mean that your site is not a good one, it probably means that our tastes are different and/or that there is room for improvement;
* don't get discouraged by the criteria, they are only meant to guide you in the right direction.

he rocess

* After I receive your application I will send you a confirmation e-mail with your ID and your site will be placed on the status page (N.B. this is no guarantee for winning an award !).

* Then I will visit your site to see if it doesn't have any of the disqualifiers. When my first visit was successful I will evaluate your site; it will be evaluated against the criteria and scoring as displayed at the time of your application. I will visit your site 3 times during the evaluation.

* Your evaluation will be finished in no more then seven (7) weeks. If I need longer I will inform you. Not a winner? If you wish you may re-apply after sixty (60) days (when necessary improvements are made). If you win I will send you an e-mail with the award attached. You need to inform me that you put the award on your site within three (3) weeks, else you will be removed from my winners list (if there is a problem please e-mail me when you will put it on; I can be patient :-).

* Every applicant will be informed about the result by e-mail, on which occasion I will give positive feedback, even when you didn't win one of my awards. If you don't want feedback, please tell me.

* I will inform sites that are disqualified with the reason of disqualification.

MOST IMPORTANT:

do not alter the awards in any way if you win (this includes optimizing, the award graphics are optimized already) !!! If you are an It's Wishcraft !!! Winner I ask that my awards are not resized, altered or defaced in any way. If I find that a site has done this it will be in violation of my criteria and you will be asked to remove my awards from your site !!!
